History of the Holoself

Historical records from Flat Forest show that the first fusions between Luchas and Sentos occurred on Momo Island thousands of cycles ago, at the mouth of the Great Cave where the Crystal Shroom Monument now stands.

When the most promising Sentos and Luchas are of-age, they participate in The Fusion Ceremony, an annual event that sees candidates travel to this original sacred site and pair up with a partner from the other tribe to form a Holoself.

Becoming a Holoself

Once they have merged, the Sento and Lucha must work to truly become one. These two tribes are profoundly different, and don’t often see eye-to-eye, so working together can be challenging.

Their inner Lucha is instinctive and impulsive, their inner Sento, logical and methodical. However, by practicing deep empathy and open-mindedness, and following the training of the Holoself Elders, Sentos and Luchas can learn to find their rhythm and become a happy, harmonious Holoself.

After their period of training, the two members of the Holoself can separate and live as an independent Lucha and Sento, reuniting for specific missions or whenever a Momobeast is needed.

Call of the Momobeast

Holoselves possess the unique ability to fuse with many Momos simultaneously to form giant organisms known as Momobeasts. These powerful creatures, which can comprise hundreds of Momos, are the embodiment of collective action in Uno, with each individual Momo contributing their own unique ability to the group.

The art of forming a Momobeast requires high levels of perseverance, patience, and people skills. Some of the abilities involved in creating successful Momobeasts include:

• Expert coordination between the Lucha and Sento. In order to organize multiple Momos simultaneously, the two core members of the Holoself must be in sync.
• Profound understanding of every Momo’s strength and weakness. Maintaining a Momobeast requires resource management. Skilled Holoselves customize their Momobeast for specific tasks, anticipating the needs of the group.
• Excellent piloting skills. Luchas control the body of the Momobeast, using their advanced dancing skills and physical prowess, while Sentos use draw on their empathy and mental fortitude to maintain a unified, motivated team.

Momobeasts

Momobeasts have played a vital role in the growth and advancement of the Uno Plane. Their contribution to humanitarian and environmental efforts cannot be overstated. From building infrastructure to maintaining agricultural lands, settling civil disputes in the capital cities to questing in the far corners of the Uno Plane, Momobeasts can be customized for any task, providing a backbone to Uno’s rich and diverse society.

Holoselves’ ability to bring together groups of Momos and work towards a common goal has been a key factor in the rising popularity of Momobeasts. And there are no more motivated and collaborative Momobeasts than those that have been formed to defend Uno from the selfish, egotistical forces that seek to divide it.
